1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the CiteAura platform (citeaura.com and associated subdomains/APIs), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an entity or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity.

2. Description of Services

CiteAura provides software-as-a-service (SaaS) tools for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). The platform crawls designated websites, analyzes structural semantics and extractability, executes multi-model perception sampling, generates actionable engineering tickets, verifies closed-loop fixes, and compiles client-ready delivery assets.

3. Measurement Integrity & Scientific Disclaimers

3.1 Stochastic Nature of AI Models

Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI search engines generate responses dynamically. CiteAura provides evidence-grounded sampling and prompt reproducibility. However, CiteAura does not guarantee that third-party AI models (including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, or Perplexity) will mention, recommend, or cite your domain or brand in any specific instance or query.

3.2 Sampling Mode Distinctions

CiteAura explicitly categorizes all measurement data into API · Model Knowledge (parametric memory), API · Web-Grounded Retrieval (live web search), and Manual · Product Surface. Unmeasured engines are reported honestly as unmeasured and never fabricated or masked as 0%.

4. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) & Third-Party APIs

When you provide third-party model API keys (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google):

• You are directly responsible for compliance with the terms of service, usage policies, and billing obligations of those respective model providers;
• CiteAura acts solely as a conduit to execute your automated testing pipelines and charges zero middleman markup on model token usage;
• You are responsible for maintaining valid quotas and funded accounts on your provider consoles.

5. User Accounts & Acceptable Use

5.1 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your tenant workspace.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use CiteAura to:

• Crawl, audit, or extract content from websites for which you have no legitimate audit authorization or interest;
• Generate malicious, deceptive, infringing, or harmful content blocks;
• Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform or worker task queues;
• Attempt unauthorized access to other tenant workspaces, underlying infrastructure, or API endpoints.

6. Intellectual Property & Customer Ownership

Your Data Remains Yours: You retain full ownership of all domain data, brand fact repositories, audit reports, JSON-LD schemas, /llms.txt files, and client delivery packages generated through your use of the platform. CiteAura claims no intellectual property rights over your customer deliverables.

7. Subscriptions, Billing, and Trials

7.1 Free Trial

Eligible users receive a 7-day free trial of Starter plan features without requiring credit card information. Upon trial expiration, continued active tracking requires an active subscription.

7.2 Paid Plans & Cancellations

Paid subscriptions (Starter, Pro, Agency) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual recurring cycle. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your billing settings. Cancellations take effect at the conclusion of the current paid billing period.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CiteAura and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or brand reputation resulting from your use of the platform or changes in third-party AI search algorithms.

9. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If a revision meaningfully affects your rights, we will provide notice via email or a prominent notification within the application. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to commercial software agreements, without regard to conflict of law principles.
